Doraemon Cafe Grapefruit and peach cream soda: I had planned to go to the “Doraemon” museum from before I came to Japan (technically the Fujiko Fujio museum, the artist who created Doraemon) since the robot cat is a favorite from my childhood. Last weekend, I finally got a solo ticket from Lawson after accepting I wouldn’t be able to convince any of my friends to go all the way out to Kanagawa, about an hour from Tokyo. I ended my trip at the small yet lovely museum with a trip to their cafe, ordering their Doraemon grapefruit and peach ... (read more) 2.5/5.0

Tohato Peach Caramel Corn: In celebration of Girls Day, an annual holiday in Japan, Tohato had a seasonal peach flavored corn puff snack with both traditional curl-shaped pieces and new pink hearts. If you haven't had caramel corn from this brand before, they're kind of like cheese puffs but instead of cheese powder, they're covered in a glazed coating that's very sweet but doesn't taste of caramel per se; it tastes a bit more like cotton candy to me. The peach flavor reminded me of Japanese peach flavored gummies. ... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Lotte Fit's big grape and peach gummies: Chewy gummy cubes with a sugary coating, half peach and half grape. They have less resistance (slightly squishier) than Sunkist fruit drops (much less than Dots), but the artificial fruit flavors are fairly standard. Super high amount of sugar but it comes in a small pouch with just a couple servings, typical of most junk food in Japan. 2.5/5.0

Le Cafe De Joël Robuchon Peach Bread with Pistachio Crumble: I actually purchased this bread back in June but realized I never wrote a review. This is from the Le Cafe de Joel Robuchon located on the ground floor of NEWoMan in Shinjuku; it's hard to miss as it's right at the entrance of the shopping mall, with a portrait of Joel Robuchon on the window. The pastries are a bit pricier than normal Japanese bakeries, but the quality is unsurprisingly good. I purchased a seasonal bread that was topped with a remarkable buttery nut crumble both savory an... (read more) 4.0/5.0

Fanta Premier Peach Soda: Fanta has all sorts of flavors in Japan that you can't get in the US, including melon, pineapple, and now peach. It's made with 13% actual juice (Minute Maid branded) to give you a sense of a potential gap between packaging / marketing and actual contents. The soda has a champagne gold color and tastes very much like peach-flavored candies. In particular, I used to love eating Kasugai Japanese fruit gummies that came individually wrapped and were shaped like half domes; this drink is like... (read more) 3.0/5.0

Yotsuba Peach Yogurt: Japanese peaches taste a little different to me than American ones – they're sweeter and juicier, and good ones are highly coveted. This peach yogurt, made with Milk from Hokkaido, is good quality Japanese yogurt that any fan of peaches could enjoy. And luckily, I don't believe this is a seasonal flavor, so you don't need to worry that it'll soon be gone. 3.5/5.0
