Edward & Sons Organic Ginger Culinary Juice: To be fair, this product is labelled as a culinary juice, rather than regular juice you would drink on its own. The label suggests adding it to soups, smoothies, and sauces. I decided to try it straight out of the bottle, thinking it was more of a mixer than a barebones ingredient. The ginger juice is basically exactly as it sounds, tasting of boiled down ginger that's been strained to produce a slightly milk, beige liquid the color of an iced coffee. Has a decent spicy aftertaste. It h... (read more) 2.5/5.0

Galvanina Chinotto Italian Sparkling Beverage: This is unique organic citrus soda with "myrtle leaf orange flavor" (according to the ingredients list). The color of the soda is a dark brown, so I assumed it would taste like cola, but instead it's a very distinct citrus drink that tastes a bit bitter and slightly medicinal. I personally enjoy bitter drinks and appreciated that it wasn't too sweet overall. Would recommend if you're looking for an alternative soda! 4.0/5.0

Green Mountain Creamery Pumpkin Pie Greek Lowfat Yogurt: The Park Slope Food Coop has some of the more extensive yogurt selection I've seen in any grocery store, even beyond Berkeley Bowl. Once in a while, I'll grab a brand I haven't reviewed before, and on my last trip, I grabbed this seasonal pumpkin pie flavor from Vermont-based Green Mountain Creamery. Unfortunately, the yogurt was kind of bland in its expected flavor profile - the texture was a bit loose for greek yogurt and the spiced flavor was too cinnamon-y for my taste. I wish it taste... Heaven & Earth Taro Chips: Kind of like Terra blue chips, these taro chips eat like they're one-level up from normal potato chips but really are just appealing to those who love potato chips but feel too guilty to eat Lay's. They consist of jus a few ingredients: taro, palm oil, and salt, and taste mostly of oil and salt; the chips are sliced impressively thin and have a crispy texture. Overall, tasty but a bit expected. 3.0/5.0

Las Delicias Patisserie Chocolate Rugelach: Very tasty mini baked treats: pastry folded with layers of chocolate (spread but also in small chunks), all topped with sugar crystals. A bit sweet but good in small quantities. Made at NYC-based bakery Las Delicias and purchased at the Park Slope Food Coop. 3.5/5.0

Liebe Lemon Crush Bavarian Style Quark: Today I learned that Quark is a Bavarian crossover between yogurt and cream cheese, yielding a thick and creamy treat whose consistency is unparalleled in the yogurt aisles. The last time I had a yogurt this smooth, it was homemade at Sophie's Greek Pantry in Massachusetts. The Lemon Crush flavor has an impressively sweet and tart flavor; the entire container has 10g of sugar, so it's sweet but not too sweet. Definitely recommend and looking forward to trying the other flavors! 4.0/5.0
