Back to the Roots Biodynamic Cinnamon Clusters: This boxed cereal comes in a milk carton and is composed of just four ingredients: stoneground whole wheat, cinnamon, salt, and cane sugar. The cereal is orecchiette shaped, and the stoneground whole wheat gives it a unique irregular texture in the same way that bronze dies do for pasta. It has a great spiced flavor and stays crunchy in milk. One of the best cereals I've had in some time. 4.5/5.0

Barbara’s Cinnamon crunch Snackimals: Abstract but still easily-identifiable animal shapes make up this glazed corn and oat cereal. Puffed texture falls somewhere between Lucky Charms non-marshmallow pieces and Kix in density. Lightly sweetened with a pleasantly spiced cinnamon flavor. Organic take on kids cereal. 3.0/5.0

Barnana Gingersnap banana brittle: Made from upcycled bananas, these crispy thin brittle chips pack a punch, with a winning spiced gingerbread flavor. Like combining banana nut bread with gingerbread, it’s the best of both worlds. Very buttery but tasty as a result. A great find from Whole Foods. 3.5/5.0

Bearded Brothers Mega Maca Chocolate Energy Bar: A glazed protein bar flecked with a scattering of beige and white crushed nuts (almonds and cashew to be exact). Given its chocolate flavoring and brown color, I expected a strong cocoa flavor only to find that the predominant taste is dates (also listed as the first item in the ingredient list). Bec Cola Organic Cola with Maple Syrup: Bec is a Montreal-based soda company whose original product is the Bec Cola pictured here. It contains just a few recognizable ingredients: carbonated water, organic maple syrup, sugar, citric acid, and cola flavour. Typically, I find maple syrup-based drinks to be overly sweet, but this one is very judicious - it contains 27g of sugar, so it's sweet but not too sweet, and it tastes first of cola with just a finish of rich maple syrup flavor. Berkeley Bowl Coconut Fig Organic Chunks of Energy: Purchased from the bulk section at Berkeley Bowl, the "organic chunks of energy" are dense cubes consisting of ground figs, oats, and nuts (almonds, I believe) with a strong coconut flavor.
