Corner of Vermont lemonade with maple syrup: Corner of Vermont is a small shop in Brooklyn selling Vermont maple syrup and other specialty items as well as maple-syrup enhanced dishes including hot dogs and ice cream. I ordered their lemonade with maple syrup and found it to be a perfectly balanced drink. The acidity level was very nicely paired with a mild sweetness from the maple syrup, which, despite my concerns, did not overwhelm. Served cold, it is an entirely satisfying summer drink. 4.5/5.0

Roxbury Mountain Maple Maple Lemon Ginger Beer: Soda from farmers market are almost always a gamble. They’re rarely labeled with nutrition facts and sometimes don’t even have an ingredients list. Yet, the mere fact that they’re only available directly from small producers is often appealing enough for me to want to try them. There was no question when I saw this intriguing combination of maple with lemon and ginger. Remarkably, the soda tastes purely of those three flavors and nothing else. The ginger is prominent and spicy, the maple add... (read more) 4.5/5.0

Arrowhead Mills Gluten Free Maple Buckwheat Flakes: As far as healthy "adult" cereal goes, these buckwheat flakes are some of the best I've had. The maple glaze makes them just sweet enough, and they keep their crunchy consistently longer than any other flakes I know of. I like eating them on their own with milk, though if you wanted more sweetness, I'm sure their recommendation of fresh fruit would do the job as well. While I'm usually skeptical of gluten free foods, these flakes don't seem to be lacking at all. 4.0/5.0

Bec Cola Organic Cola with Maple Syrup: Bec is a Montreal-based soda company whose original product is the Bec Cola pictured here. It contains just a few recognizable ingredients: carbonated water, organic maple syrup, sugar, citric acid, and cola flavour. Typically, I find maple syrup-based drinks to be overly sweet, but this one is very judicious - it contains 27g of sugar, so it's sweet but not too sweet, and it tastes first of cola with just a finish of rich maple syrup flavor. Definitely recommend! 4.0/5.0

Kind Maple Glazed Pecan and Sea Salt Nut Bar: A granola bar with a variety of textures: there are crunchy nuts and crispy grains, but they're bound together with a sweet and chewy maple glaze. The maple was very sweet, though the bar clearly marks that there is only 5g of sugar (it's not a very big bar, though). The sweetness is also offset by the sea salt, which has a prominent flavor. 3.0/5.0

Tretap Organic maple sparkling tree water: I'm conflicted about this drink because, on the one hand, it tastes shockingly accurate, with a deeply sweet maple flavor that somehow only lends 3g of sugar per serving, yet I'm not sure why anyone would want an entire 12oz can of sparkling, liquid maple syrup. If that person is you, check this drink out. If not, take comfort in knowing it would taste exactly as you would expect it to. 3.0/5.0
