Chichiyasu Setouchi Mandarin Orange Yogurt: I purchased this pack of yogurt from the grocery store because the package is super cute. They're have a mild sherbert orange flavor and are inspired by mandarin oranges grown in the Setouchi region of Japan. They aren't as smooth as American kid's yogurt, with a little bit of graininess, but it gives it character. A little more sour than creamy. 3.0/5.0

Gari Gari Kun Kyushu Mikan mandarin orange popsicle : I am a fan of Kumamon, a popular black bear mascot representing Kumamoto prefecture in Japan. He's kind of everywhere, so I wasn't surprised to find him on ice cream packaging for this mandarin flavored popsicle with citrus from Kyushu . The rectangular ice brick reminds me of Sunkist, with a tangy slightly too-concentrated-to-be-natural orange flavor, though it is enjoyable for what it is. Purchased from Family Mart. 3.0/5.0

Hokunyu Mandarin Orange Yogurt: This is one of my favorite yogurts that I've tried in Japan. Available in normal grocery stores, it is a tart and creamy yogurt containing whole mandarin orange slices. A very interesting combination of soft yogurt with juicy fruit that I hadn't had before. Highly recommend! 4.0/5.0

Pokka Sapporo Mandarin orange drink: Tangy Japanese orange beverage with bits of orange segment, it reminded me of a thicker, higher quality Capri Sun with a familiar artificial orange soda flavor. Comes in a sturdy aluminum bottle which lends a slightly metallic flavor. 3.0/5.0

あわしま堂 Mandarin Orange Daifuku: I've had surprisingly little mochi in Japan, even though it's one of my favorite snacks, but the orange-themed packaging of this individually-wrapped snack stood out to me, and since I had never tasted orange-flavored mochi before, I decided to give it a try. The mochi itself is dyed pale orange and is much more plump and pliable than any store-bought mochi I've had in the states. The filling is almost like an orange pulp, slightly stringy in texture, and is notably acidic, rather than tas... (read more) 3.5/5.0
