Balthazar Ginger Citrus Tea: A fantastically warming ginger beverage that's equal parts ginger and lemon, with a touch of honey. Well-balanced, with a pronounced and cleansing spicy flavor. A noteworthy classic worth going out of the way for. 4.0/5.0

Destroyer Lemon ginger tonic: At a restaurant where the menu is projected onto the wall and their business card is a tiny sliver with no actual information other than its name, Destroyer could be easily dismissed as pretentious style over substance. But this lemon ginger tonic was just a perfectly balanced, no frills version of that drink, with just the right levels of carbonation, sweetness, and sharpness. 4.0/5.0

Cones Ginger and Cantaloupe Sorbet : Cones is a dependably excellent ice cream shop on Bleecker St in Manhattan. I almost always get sorbet when I'm there, and they're always super refreshing and flavorful. Both the ginger and cantaloupe this time were fresh and very light. I recommend getting a scoop and then going across the street to Book Book. 4.0/5.0

These packaged scones were more flavorful, moist, and light than any scone I’ve purchased directly from a bakery. One of its most distinct qualities was... (read more) 4.0/5.0

Cones Lychee and ginger sorbet: Cones in the West Village never disappoints with its superbly fresh sorbets. I realize in the handful of times I’ve been to this independent ice cream shop, I’ve never had any of their actual ice cream because I’m always lured by their excellent sorbets. This time it was their lychee and ginger sorbets, which were both very sharp and clean tasting. The ginger had a great level of spice, which paired well with the tropical lychee scoop. Smooth and consistent texture as well. 4.0/5.0
