Wei-Chuan lotus seed paste buns: I love mantou, a Chinese steamed bun often consumed for breakfast. I recently purchased this Taiwanese lotus seed filled bun from Hmart and am a huge fan. The filling is very lightly sweetened (2g of sugar), and after about 10 minutes of steaming, the bread is pillowy yet slightly chewy. It's very difficult to find a brand of filled frozen buns that isn't insanely sweet, and these were also reasonably priced. 4.5/5.0

Kelvin Slush ginger and white peach slush: This Brooklyn-based company has a truck that makes its way around the city. You purchase a slush by first picking a base and then adding a fruit mix-in. At Smorgasburg, I selected ginger with white peach, and the combination was exceptionally good. They add the mix-in halfway through so the flavor is more distributed, and the texture of the organic slush is impressively smooth. Powder Black sesame Taiwanese shaved ice with mochi: During my childhood, my family would visit Taiwan every few years, spending several weeks in the scorching heat of the summer months. Once in a while, we would be treated with the best cure for a heatwave: baobing, or Taiwanese shaved ice served alongside a variety of toppings like peanut and red bean, all saturated with a sweet syrup that flavored the ice crystals. Culture Raspberry frozen yogurt: This is the best raspberry soft serve I’ve ever had, with a concentrated berry flavor that’s sweet and tart. With a flavor this good, it’s best eaten without any toppings. Seasonal flavor from NYC-based yogurt shop Culture. Naia Citrus Collection Fruit Pops (Blood Orange, Tangelo, and Meyer Lemon Sorbetto): Naia is a California-based gelato and sorbetto brand which was originally a shop in Berkeley (one that I unfortunately didn't get a chance to try firsthand as it closed back in 2012). I came across their fruit bars at Ballard Market and was immediately drawn into the unique variety, with each pack featuring a trio of popsicle flavors.
