Berkeley Bowl Coconut Fig Organic Chunks of Energy: Purchased from the bulk section at Berkeley Bowl, the "organic chunks of energy" are dense cubes consisting of ground figs, oats, and nuts (almonds, I believe) with a strong coconut flavor. I brought them to work with me to see how effective they would be at helping me get through my post-lunch pre-dinner hunger pangs. I did notice that my stomach growled less and that I seemed to be able to focus better – and the box lasted me over a week, which I believe is enough time to work again any ... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Trader Joe's Coconut Water: Single-serving container of coconut water. Hydrating. At some point, coconut waters all begin to taste the same. This one is a bit better than average. 3.5/5.0

Kashi Coconut Cashew Macaroon Chewy Nut Butter Bars: Kashi has not fared well on Tasty Snacking, averaging a score of 2.6 for products that fall too far on the "health food" spectrum of healthy snacks. Take a look at the packaging: If you strip away the Kashi logo and minimalist typography, you're ... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Bao is fluffy and yielding. A not-too-sweet dessert for those who love coconut. Comes in a box containing two buns. 3.5/5.0

Bonsai Kakigori Coconut Lime Crunch Kakigori: Located in the back of Canal Street Market, Bonsai Kakigori serves freshly-shaved Japanese ice desserts. Similar to Korean bingsu, the shaved ice has a fluffy consistency that's much lighter than Italian ice. At Bonsai, the shaved ice is piled high and served with a generous number of toppings. The Coconut Lime Crunch flavor had a coconut foam topping, toasted coconut flakes, lime zest, and toasted peanuts. Equal parts crunchy, creamy, and citrusy, it was well balanced and a treat to sha... Nissin Coconut sable matcha cookies: Classic Asian sable cookies with a matcha twist. The wheat biscuits are sweetened with coconut milk and have a sugary glaze. Matcha powder seems to have been mixed in to the flour, rather than used as a coating (the cookies are not green). Contains individual serving packs of 5 crackers. Though there is quite a bit of sugar in each serving (22g), I still found the biscuits enjoyable. They taste more like matcha than most matcha-flavored snacks I've had, and the mix of coconut and matcha... (read more) 3.5/5.0
