12 Tides Chili Pepper Puffed Kelp Chilps: These kelp chips have a texture similar to asian rice crackers but a little more dense (cassava and tapioca flour form the base). I haven't had kelp-based chips before, and I expected them to taste a bit like seaweed, but the chili pepper seasoning was way too overpowering – like eating paprika and cayenne spice directly. 2.0/5.0

365 green chili chutney naan chips: I don't know if the package I received is a dud, but these chips have almost 0 added flavor. They're passable as plain pita chips. Definitely need something to dip them in. 2.0/5.0

4505 Spicy Green Chili & Lime Pork Cracklins: Cracklings are one of the few meat-based snacks you can find in the snack aisle in western grocery stores (compared to the variety of seafood-flavored options you have in Asia), and cracklings seem to represent the most moorish cravings, with their typically high salt and fat content. This bag from San Francisco-based BBQ shop 4505 features pork skin covered with a spiced green chili powder and a bright finish of lime. I found them to be a little bit on the salty side and much crunchier (a... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Cosmos Tteokbokki Rice Crackers: Korean spicy and sweet rice crackers shaped like rigatoni, with the exact opposite texture of the typically soft and chewy cylindrical rice cakes. Tastes of fermented gochujang chili paste, which is a staple in most Korean cooking so will taste familiar if you enjoy eating Korean stews. More sweet than savory but has a mildly spicy aftertaste. This is the second brand I've tried from HMart, and they seem pretty much interchangeable but both delicious. 4.0/5.0

Haitai Korean chili rice cake snack: A uniquely addictive snack with a bit of an identity crisis. Tubular, ridged wheat \"crackers\" that are meant to resemble their solid rice cake counterparts but look more like macaroni. Unlike real rice cakes, this snack is crunchy. Coated in a sweet and savory chili glaze. The immediate flavor is sweet, but the finish is just spicy enough. Really didn't know what to expect when getting this snack, but it is oddly delicious and definitely worth trying. 4.0/5.0

Huang Fei Hong spicy peanuts: Chili peanut blend containing dried chili peppers, roasted peanuts, and peppercorns. My dad swears by these, but I actually prefer the Qia Qia brand. The peanuts are not that flavorful until you get a mouthful of peppercorns, at which point the flavor is too strong. 3.0/5.0
