Bubble Tea Sharetime Matcha milk tea with boba: This compact bubble tea shop on Shattuck in Berkeley, CA is best suited for ordering bubble tea to-go. Its proximity to my apartment, as well as its consistently good quality boba and drinks, have made it my go-to bubble tea cafe, particularly when it comes to milk tea (for fruit teas, Asha still wins). As far as Berkeley goes, the milk teas at Sharetime are better than UCha, Purple Kow, and Sweetheart Cafe, mostly because they aren't too sweet and taste more like tea than milk. On my last... Bubble Tea Share Time Ginger milk tea with boba: Small mom-and-pop bubble tea shop Share Time is yet another bubble tea option in Berkeley. Located on Shattuck about a ten minute walk from the Downtown Berkeley BART station, Its menu consists of largely classic milk and fruit teas. Their ginger milk tea is very good, with a prominent ginger flavor mellowed out by creamy milk. Boba was above average in consistency - a little soft but with good elasticity. Would visit again. 3.5/5.0

Bubble Tea Station Mango slush with boba: Bubble Tea Station is a good reminder of the realities of bubble tea in mainstream America. When NYTimes published an article on the odd-blobs-in-drinks trend, a mostly-justifiable outrage was heard from bubble tea fanatics across the country, leading to multiple revisions and an official apology from the editors. While bubble tea is by no means a new cultural phenomena in the states, it's also nowhere near as pervasive as those of us living in urban centers might think. Last month, I found ... Cha House Oolong milk tea with boba: This charming Taiwanese cafe on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, NC has a variety of snacks but specializes in bubble tea, with a mix of classic milk teas and fruit teas. I purchased their oolong milk tea at 0% sweetness since the boba are already steeped in brown sugar. The boba had a pretty good texture, though it was a tad soft for my taste. The oolong tea had a refreshing herbal flavor yet was also creamy and rich from the frothed milk. Overall, a solid and very traditional milk tea. 3.5/5.0

Chicha San Chen Osmanthus Oolong Tea with Boba: Was recommended this Taiwanese bubble tea chain from multiple people after they opened just their second US location in Bellevue WA (the first is in San Gabriel in LA). It's located in a small strip mall a block away from the Bellevue Square Mall and while it has a tight, busy parking lot, there is some additional parking down the street. The line was ridiculously long and it took about 30 minutes to place our order, and a little over 10 minutes to get our drinks. Overall, the atmosphere ... (read more) 2.5/5.0

Coco Boba Milk Tea: You may be tempted to satisfy a late-night bubble tea craving at Coco, but it's best to avoid this overly-sweet drink. 2.0/5.0
