Loacker Blackcurrant Quadratini Wafer Cookies: Generally, I'm a fan of the Italian brand Loacker, which offers square snack-sized wafers in a variety of flavors. I found the blackcurrant flavor to be especially good because they are actually more tart than sweet. The wafers are crispy and thin, and because they are thick, they feel like a substantial snack despite the bite-size package. Definitely one of the best Loacker wafers I've had. 4.0/5.0

Forager Wild Blueberry Cashewgurt: While almond and soy are typically in the spotlight for dairy-alternative foods, San Francisco-based Forager utilizes cashews for the same range of products, including cashew milk and yogurt. Continuing my survey into non-dairy yogurts, I purchased several "cashewgurt" yogurt flavors from Berkeley Bowl during a recent sale. The organic Wild Blueberry flavor I tried first was the best. The presentation of the pastries is impeccable, with a commendable level of consistency and care put into every piece. Of course, as with any San Francisco establishment, you pay a premium for quality - the strawberry cake, about 4 inches long, was $8. ... (read more) 4.0/5.0

Gua Maral Sea Berry Lactis: Purchased this miniature bottle of juice from the Tsukuba train station at a shop dedicated to local products. From the illustration, I gather that it's sea-buckthorn juice, and it was super tart and a little milky, almost like a yogurt drink in consistency. I've had sea-buckthorn a few times, mostly at Nordic shops and restaurants, and it has a very unique sour flavor. I love it, but I can also see how it might not be to everyone's taste. Would want to have it with breakfast every day, per... (read more) 4.0/5.0

Muller blackberry and raspberry greek yogurt: Not as thick as you would expect for greek yogurt, but I like the berry mix, which has real berry segments that add texture. 3.5/5.0
