Kashi Almond Snickerdoodle Chewy Nut Butter Bars: Here, Kashi continues its quest to introduce candy-like flavors to their otherwise health-centric line. Oats and chopped almonds are held together with an almond butter paste. A spiced cinnamon flavor not unlike cinnamon toast crunch dominates the taste. Seems sweeter than its nutrition facts reveal, with 6g of sugar a bar. Like the coconut macaroon bar I previously reviewed, it's not particularly filling but tasty while it lasts. 3.5/5.0

Kind peanut butter and dark chocolate bars: Great texture; mostly chewy, but quinoa and other grains add crunch. Flavor itself is classic and not particularly exciting, but the snack overall is wholesome and something you can feel good about. 3.5/5.0

Kind Peanut butter dark chocolate granola bars: Once you've had any Kind bar, you know exactly what to expect from any other flavor: mixed grains and textures (both chewy and soft), a decent filling portion size, and good value. This peanut butter chocolate flavor is standard, but satisfying. As far as granola bars go, Kind is reliably good. 3.5/5.0

Lipton Tea Ice Bubble Tea Ice Bars: I like seeing how American brands reinvent themselves abroad, offering products especially for foreign markets. I see Lipton tea bottled beverages sometimes in vending machines, for example, where as in the US, I only ever associate the brand with tea bags. Their black milk tea ice cream bars are miniature, about 2/3 the size of American fruit bars, and at 45 calories each, I don't feel bad having them. They have a familiar black milk tea flavor with boba pieces throughout that are actual... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Marin Food Specialties Fig Bars: I think figs are one of the most underrated fruits. Since I moved to Berkeley, I've enjoyed eating the Berkeley Bowl fig cereal bars fairly regularly, so I don't usually buy packaged fig bars anymore. This product was on sale, though, and given that it was a local brand, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, the filling was overly dense and far too sweet, while the cookie was too crumbly and a little bit dry. I have yet to find a good snack with the word "great tasting" on the labe... Meiji Ujikintoki Ice Bars: I've been very slowly working through this box of popsicles for about a month now. Having previously tried a Lotte version of packaged kakigori ice bars, I decided to try this matcha version not realizing it was from a different brand (Meiji). These ice cream bars are really quite bad; the green tea ice is very hard and crunchy and lacks flavor, whole red bean throughout the ice have a very dry texture, the viscous condensed milk that sits on top of it is far too sweet, and the outer coati...
