The chips are thin and slightly crispy but mostly saturated with oil. Seasoned with a sweet tangy vinegar-based powder, it has all the classic flavorings of a bbq chip. Calbee Grill-A-Corn Barbecue Flavor: Chinese corn chips that have a sweet barbecue flavor, a bit reminiscent of Shacha bbq sauce but more seasoned. The packaging suggests a grilled corn on the cob flavor, perhaps similar to that you can find, brushed with Shacha sauce, in night markets in Asia. Golden Island Korean barbecue pork jerky: Like most Asian jerky (this one originated in Taiwan) the meat is covered in a sticky glaze, unlike American jerky, which tends to be dry seasoned. I expected some strong and spicy gochujang-like flavoring but instead got something more sweet than savory, almost like a meek teriyaki sauce. The pieces are also sprinkled with sesame seeds. Ultimately, not as authentic as I hoped it would be. 2.5/5.0

Good Health Barbecue Kettle Chips: Good Health labeling may be surprising to find on a bag of potato chips. Despite having high levels of “healthy fat,” avocado oil has somehow helped produce chips with 30% less fat than regular.
