Meiji Ginger Ale up Gummi: These are similar in shape and texture to Harbibo cola gummies but flavored like ginger ale. It does have a citrus + pear flavor similar to Sprite with a hint of ginger. Overall, I was hoping for more ginger flavor, or for the snack to capture some of the sharp fizziness of a can of ginger ale. But it was just ok. 3.0/5.0

Rogue Voodoo Doughnuts pretzel, raspberry, and chocolate ale: I generally don't drink beer, but I sampled this one in the name of snacks. This ale was inspired by a flavored doughnut from the Voodoo Doughnuts shops in Portland. The chocolate and raspberry flavor came through in the finish, and perhaps the pretzel flavor was captured in the earlier savory notes. Not something I can imagine drinking a full cup, but interesting.

Seijo Ishii Extra Spicy Ginger Ale: Ginger ale is my favorite soda, and I love ginger drinks that are particularly spicy, so I was excited to try this version claiming to be extra spicy. The bottle was a bit thicker than normal, which made me hopeful that it would contain especially carbonated soda. Overall, I found the ginger flavor to definitely be above average, probably in the top 40% of ginger ales I've had, but comparatively, it was just a bit spicier than Reed's Ginger Beer, which isn't as spicy as I would hope. Sprecher's ginger ale: The first time I had Sprechers was at Momofuku Ssam bar back in 2009, and I was instantly a fan of their root beer. I found this large bottle, with two servings, at a sandwich shop in DC, and I was excited to try it given how much I love ginger. On first sip, the ginger flavor was prominent and spicy, but it finishes kind of musky due to the addition of honey.
