Peach Mart Super Dogs: These mini corn dogs are about the size of a donut hole and taste exactly as you would expect, with a sweet batter and savory hot dog interior. Overall, the snack is moist and satisfying, but the best part was definitely the sharp spicy mustard it came with – a small amount was potent and really lifted the fried snack to new levels. These super dogs cost $4 for a sampling of 5 pieces. Purchased at the new Momofuku Peach Mart at the Hudson Yards mall, a "convenient store" serving a selecti... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Morgenstern's Black currant sorbet : A sharp black currant sorbet, sure to color your entire mouth deep purple. More tart than sweet, and in that way tastes remarkably close to the real fruit. Texture was a tad inconsistent, witha few icier segments. Wish Morgenstern's could let you do two flavors in one scoop because this was an example of a flavor that was strong enough that having an entire single-dip cup felt superfluous. 3.5/5.0

Mito Yuzu Cider: This bottle of citrus soda from Shimane Prefecture, Japan, was purchased from Japan Village's Sunrise Mart in Brooklyn. The soda tastes like a citrus-leaning ramune; quite sweet, but the acidic yuzu flavor helps balance it out. Half a bottle was the perfect amount for me, which is also oddly the serving size listed on the nutrition facts. Would probably pair really well with savory food. As far as citrus sodas I've had, this is definitely above average. 3.5/5.0

Baked in Brooklyn Sour Cream and Onion Pita Chips: I fittingly bought these pita chips from Foodtown in Brooklyn. I liked them overall - they tasted a bit like garlic bagel bites but with a slightly tangy flavor that gives sour cream and onion its character. The pita chips are what you expect: hearty and thickly cut. A healthier yet similarly tasty alternative to sour cream and onion potato chips. 3.5/5.0

Kolsvart Turbot Sour Berry Candies: Actual Swedish fish candies from Malmo, Sweden. Raspberry-flavored, these turbot-shaped chewy gummies have a sharp but well balanced sour coating. They come from a company called Kolsvart, which literally means pitch black, a fitting name for Swedish's death metal roots. Like the Swedish Fish candies, they don't contain gelatin and are, as a result, vegan. Texturally, though, these candies have a softer texture than Swedish Fish; they're similar to Sour Patch Kids, but with a more natur... (read more) 3.5/5.0

Meyers Bageri Cinnamon Roll: On my recent trip to Scandinavia, the one item I was on the look out for was cardamom buns. Unfortunately, a handful of the bakeries I tried to go to didn't work out. Most of them were closed for the month of July as part of their summer holiday (could you imagine if people did this in the US?!), which I only sadly discovered after going to them in person. It was a reminder not to trust Google Map opening hours as bakeries often share that they're closed through their Instagram feeds. Ba... (read more) 3.5/5.0
