United's Bistro on Board's chicken and swiss focaccia: In a moment of weakness and extreme hunger (and after an hour delay on a ~6 hour flight) I gave into paying almost $10 for an in-flight meal. What I received was surprisingly edible. The focaccia had a strong tomato flavor, not too dissimilar from a hot pocket, and the chicken was actually not that dry. The caramel coating is thick and crispy, but the cheese flavor is comparably lackluster, with a flat flavor profile. Crush Grape soda: Somehow manages to have "natural and artificial ingredients" yet contains no fruit juice (which is clearly marked on the can above the nutrition facts). An insane amount of sugar. Yet this formulated grape flavor harkens back to summer field days with freeze pops, ice cream sandwiches, and other highly processed yet nostalgic foods. In other words, this soda is childhood, albeit a completely unhealthy one. 2.5/5.0
